Pinning enhancement in M/MgB2 (M = Ag, Cu and Nb) system

  • 1. Department of Physics, Graduate School of Engineering, Yokohama National University, Tokiwadai 79-5, Hodogaya-ku, Yokohama 240-8501 (Japan)

Description

Jc enhancements in M/MgB2 (M = Ag, Cu and Nb) system at 20 K and 1 T were first observed in the sintered bulk samples with small amount of M. They were prepared from the mixture of Mg, B and MmOn in the 10%H2/Ar atmosphere at 900 deg. C for 30 minutes. The largest Jc of M = Ag, Cu and Nb system were 1.33-, 1.48- and 1.70-times larger than that of pure MgB2, respectively
