Generic studies on the fuel-cycle evolution

The objectives of this research activity are 1) to study the build-up of large stockpiles of plutonium originating from the civilian fuel cycle and from stocks from military applications, 2) to develop theoretical optimization scenarios that aim at defining how plutonium stocks could be minimized, 3) to evaluate aspects of safeguarding large plutonium quantities for several scenarios of plutonium use or re-use.
