FGR Evaluation Code for CANDU Fuel under Normal Operating Condition: ELESTRES

Description

Fission gas released during the irradiation is the one of the key parameters which affect the normal operation behavior of the CANDU fuel as well as the transient behavior after an accident. Thus, the accurate calculation of the fission gas release is an essencial to the performance analysis of the fuel during normal operating condition and the prediction of the transient behavior after an accident of the CANDU fuel. In this report, among the performance analysis or the transient behavior prediction computer codes, the fission gas calculating codes such as the ELESTRES, COREFPR, and REDOU are briefly introduced and each code's objectives, applicability, and relations are explained. Especially, the user manual for ELESTRES code which is the fuel performance analysis code under the normal operating condition is provided so that it can be the guidance to the potential users of the code and save the time and economic loss by reducing the trial and error
