Description
In continuation of the comprehensive work programme undertaken for investigating the physico-chemical properties of thorium and its compounds, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) has been employed for measuring the molar heat capacity (Cp) of ThO2-UO2 solid solution, having 2 and 4 wt% urania, in the temperature range 373-773K. The results indicate that within the experimental uncertainties, there was no significant difference among the heat capacity values of pure ThO2 and ThO2-UO2 in the weight range of UO2 taken.
