Production of negative ions by double charge exchange and their acceleration

Description

Multiampere H- beam production by double charge exchange in sodium vapor is investigated. Production of intense H- beams and their acceleration was experimentally demonstrated. Stability of the acceleration system in the studied range does not depend on the accelerating voltage. Pulse length and negative ion acceleration limits are related to the characteristics of the positive ion source used
