Probing two-particle source and densities in heavy-ion collisions
Description
Deuteron-alpha correlation functions are studied in Xe+Au collisions at E/A=50 MeV in order to extract emission densities. The influence of collective motion on the correlation function and on the source size is presented. After taking into account collective motion corrections, densities of about 0.1-0.4ρ0 are extracted for the d-α source. In the same data, two-proton correlation functions provide higher densities suggesting that proton emitting sources are more localized in space-time than deuteron and alpha emitting sources
