Computed tomography after liver transplantation

Description
Orthotopic liver transplantation is commonly performed at many institutions around the world. The care of these critically ill patients has heavily relied upon cross-sectional imaging, specifically CT. CT is of enormous benefit in the postoperative management of the various complications which is common in this group of patients. This article reviews the role of CT and its respective strengths and weaknesses, in the adult liver transplant recipient. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Orthotope Lebertransplantationen werden in vielen Einrichtungen zahlreicher Laender vorgenommen. Dabei stuetzt sich die Nachsorge der Patienten im kritischen Zustand in immer staerkerem Masse auf Schnittbildtechniken, besonders auf die Computertomographie (CT). Die CT bietet grosse Vorteile in der postoperativen Diagnose und Therapieentscheidung bei unterschiedlichen Komplikationen, die in dieser Patientengruppe haeufig auftreten. Unter besonderer Beruecksichtigung der Staerken und Schwaechen der CT wird im vorliegenden Beitrag auf die Bedeutung dieses bildgebenden Verfahrens bei erwachsenen Empfaengern von Lebertransplantaten eingegangen.
