Current generation in tokamaks at ion capture in magnetic traps of fast magneto-acoustic wave

Description
Capture of ions produced under neutral atom injection into tokamak plasma, to magnetic traps of a fast magnetoacoustic wave running in the injection direction, can lead to accumulation of these particles and production of an ion beam with current rate equalling to the wave longitudinal phase rate. Such a physical mechanism makes up the base for a new induction free method of steady-state current generation in a tokamak, with is profitably different as compared to the earlier proposed ones. 7 refs
