Vacancy formation enthalpy in cadmium by positron lifetime measurements

Description
Because of a strong prevacancy effect in cadmium the assumptions of the trapping model seem to the fulfilled rather badly. Therefore the formation enthalpy of monovacancies is also determined by methods using the trapping model only to some extent or not at all. Hsub(1v)sup(f) is obtained as (0.39+-0.04) eV (from the trapping model), Hsub(1v)sup(f) =(0.42+-0.02) eV (from the inflection point), and Hsub(1v)sup(f) = (0.45+-0.08) eV (from the threshold temperature).
