Gamma radiation effect on domain structure rearrangement of triglycinesulfate crystals containing cobalt
Description
The effect of γ-irradiation on the domain structure rearrangement and on phenomena associated with it in cobalt-containing triglycinesulfate (TGS) crystals is investigated. Low dose γ-irradiation (D <= 2x104 R) in cobalt-containing triglycinesulfate crystals is shown to bring about growth of intensity of domain processes, while at large radiation doses processes of rearrangement of the domain structure are delayed. Low-dose irradiation of TGS:Co2+ crystals results in growth of the pyroelectric coefficient. Increase in the radiation dose decreases the crystal pyroactivity. Maximum dielectric permittivity epsilon of cobalt-containing TGS crystals is reduced with growth of γ-irradiation dose, phase transition is smeared, the epsilonsub(max) point is shifted to the low temperature range
