Experimental and theoretical study on the dissociation of nebulized nitric acid in a plasma reactor

Description

An experimental study of the dissociation of nitric-acid vapor in a 150-kW arc plasma reactor was carried out. It was shown that the content of the gas phase differs from the equilibrium composition and is determined by the kinetics of gas reactions. Numerical simulation of the kinetics of chemical reactions occurring during interaction of nebulized solutions of nitric acid with flowing air plasma was performed. The results obtained indicate the feasibility of effective utilization of nitrogen oxides upon plasma treatment of nitrate solutions
