Steam generator accident protection

A three-way quick-acting valve is mounted on the input and output pipe through which the coolant is fed into and discharged from the steam generator. This equipment is connected wjth a relief pipe to the emergency tank or to the gas area of the main circuit e.g., in the coolant equalizing tank. The said equipment may be used for quickly isolating a faulty part of the steam generator at much lower cost than is the case with emergency equipment used hitherto. (J.P.)
