Concentration factors of marine organisms used for the environmental dose assessment
Creators

Description
Radionuclides contained in the low level liquid wastes discharges from the Tokai fuel reprocessing plant may possibly be acumulated in marine organisms in the coastal environment. The bioaccumulation or concentration factors of marine organisms are required to assess doses of the public through the intake of seafoods caught near the site. Published information on the concentration of radionuclides in seawaters and marine organisms was surveyed. The data obtained by field measurements at the coastal sea of Windscale and Tokai were compiled, and the concentration factors applicable to the dose assessment were calculated
