Enhancing the IAEA Incident and Trafficking Database Programme

  • 1. European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Institute for Transuranium Elements, PO Box 2340, 76125 Karlsruhe (Germany)

Description

IAEA's Incident and Trafficking Database is worldwide recognised compilation of information on nuclear security events involving RN materials. During the last few years, the IAEA has gone through substantial efforts to modernise it. The European Commission started a project on "Assessment whether existing systems, in particular the IAEA's ITDB, provide sufficient information on illicit trafficking of RN materials for the law enforcement community" 18 months ago, looking into how the EU-27 Member States perceive the usability of the ITDB and into opportunities for further improving it
