Thermostimulated luminescence of yttrium and scandium oxides' ceramics

Description

The Y2O3 and Sc2O3 are perspective materials for ionizing radiation registration due to their chemical, thermal and radiation stability . In the paper a thermostimulated luminescence (TSL) of Y2O3, Y2O3:Eu and Sc2O3 under X-ray excitation is studied. In the ceramics on the base Y2O3 within temperature interval 80-350 K there are marked 3 main groups of TSL peaks in fields 0-140, 150-220 and 230-280 K. In structure of TSL spectrum for Sc2O3 ceramics appeal 2 first groups of peaks with inessential high temperature shift of curves and with change of their relative intensity. On the base of elementary counters forms analysis consisting TSL curves the conclusion about corresponding recombination processes kinetics character was made. Dose dependences were received for all elementary counters in result of TSL curves decomposition. It was established, that marked TSL peaks maximum insensitivities in examined ceramics under dose rise have been aspired to saturation. Spectrum content of TSL for received ceramics is studied. Peculiarities of TSL spectra for pure and activated by Eu given ceramics are determined. Corresponding mechanisms of luminescence are considered. With help of number of methodic an activation energy and frequency factor are determined. Presence of distance tunnel mechanism of luminescence in examined ceramics is revealed. It was determined, that in Y2O3 and Sc2O3 the diffusion-controlling tunnel recombination has been observed, it is conditioned by thermal stimulated migration of vk-centers
