Measurement of captured gamma quanta yield from an organic scintillator when irradiated with fast neutrons
Description
Results are presented of measuring and calculation of capturing γ-quantum emission in case of fast neutron irradiation of an organic scintillator. The measurements are taken by a transit time method with a 252Cf neutron source employed. The experiment is compared with calculations performed by the Monte-Carlo method. Emission of the capturing γ-quanta for a 60x60 mm crystal does not exceed 2.10-3 for an incident neutron within a time range of up to 100 μsec
