Recent developments in the hydrodynamical model of multiparticle production in hadronic collisions

Description

One of several approaches to describe multiparticle production in high energy collisions is Landau's hydrodynamical model which has been revived in the last few years. Recently two open problems have been investigated: the choice of the equation of state of the expanding fluid has been clarified and an improved approximate analytic solution for the threedimensional expansion was obtained. We discuss these results and some other recent work in the field and indicate possible directions of further progress. (orig.)
