Time dependent beta-delayed neutrons from fissioning systems
Description
A 3He ionization chamber was used in a computer-controlled rapid rabbit transit system to measure the time-dependent β-delayed neutron yields. The time-dependent gross neutron counts were analyzed in a least-squares manner to obtain a few group analysis. Gross β-delayed neutron yields (relative to 235U) were obtained for 232Th, 232U, 233U, 238U, 237Np, 238Pu, 239Pu, 241Pu, 242Pu, 241Am, /sup 242m/Am, 245Cm, and 249Cf. These data were compared with results calculated with a simple model. 1 table
