Determination of thallium in whole blood by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry with direct dilution

Description

Objective: To explore the condition for determination of thallium concentration in whole blood by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) with direct dilution. Methods: Whole blood samples were collected in heparin anticoagulant tubes and dissolved with 0.3% nitric acid + 0.5% Triton X - 100. Magnesium nitrate and palladium chloride were used as chemical modifiers in the determination of blood thallium by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Results: The standard curve equation was Y = 0.0028 X + 0.0082, r = 0.9979, The linear range of standard solution of thallium was 0-70 μg/L, the minimum detection limit of the method was 0.12 μg/L (RSD was 0.9%), the recovery rate was 98.9%-103.3%, and the minimum quantitative concentration of the method was 0.4 μg/L, which conformed to the determination requirements of human blood thallium. Conclusion: This method is simple, stable and reliable in measuring the content of thallium in the whole blood of working or healthy people. (authors)
