On the polarization of X-ray sources
Description
The results of theoretical calculations of polarization of X-ray sources radiation are given. It is supposed that the polarization of X-ray sources radiation is due to electron scattering. For the theoretical determination of the degree of polarization multiple scattering in a plane slab is considered when temperature varies with the optical depth. The linear integral equations for intensities are solved. The theoretical polarization is compared with the observational data for X-ray sources Cyg X-1 and Sco X-1. Parameters of accretion disks in these systems are evaluated. The slope angle of the disk i; equal i=81 deg. At the optical disk thickness tau=7 the value nL0 approximately 1024 has been determined (n - average concentration of hydrogen atoms and L0-geometric disk thickness). The determined values of the disk temperature correspond to the ''cold'' accretion disk model
