Treatment with iodine 131

Description

After the surgery for thyroid cancer, radioactive iodine is administered as complementary treatment, depending on the risk factors analysis, that are necessary after the surgical intervention and the pathological exam. The patient is classified as of high risk if he presents anyone of the risk factors 7 certain as independent; of low risk, if he does not present anyone of the factors independent or controversial; and without risk, when none of the independent or not independent factors is present. In accordance with the previous classification decides the treatment type to administer this way: Ablation, ablation with low dose and ablation with high dose. The author also refers to the therapy and the conditions of obtaining a successful ablation
