Relationship Between Dissolved Calcium and Total Calcium in Al-Killed Steels After Calcium Treatment

  • 1. University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB), School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering (China)

Description

The variation of dissolved calcium content after calcium treatment in 37Mn5 pipeline steels was investigated. The content of [Ca] was calculated based on measured results of T.Ca and the composition of inclusions, which decreased from 16 to 0.07 ppm due to calcium vaporization. A comparison between the calculated and predicted [Ca] contents using Factsage indicated a good agreement. The effect of T.Ca, T.O., T.S, [Al]s, and temperature on [Ca] was also discussed.
