A procedure to build an improved continuous stress field in the local region using the concept of conjugate stress and iterative method

  • 1. Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Taejon (Korea, Republic of)

Description

The objective of this study is to propose a procedure to build an improved and continuous stress field in local regions. The procedure is based on the theory of conjugate approximations and Loubignac's iterative method. The validity of the procedure has been tested through some examples. Analysis of the examples shows that the stress field obtained for the local region model by the procedure agrees well with that for the whole domain model. In addition, a significant reduction in the computing time to obtain the improved stress field implies that the procedure can be an efficient alternative for the detailed stress analysis in local regions.
