Waste management aspect of lithium-vanadium alloy based fusion blankets
Description
Activation analysis was performed for a lithium self-cooled fusion blanket made of vanadium alloy. The fusion evaluated nuclear data library (FENDL-1) and REAC*3 activation calculation code and associated nuclear data libraries were employed. Assessment was made on concentration limits for the alloying elements and impurities in vanadium alloys relevant to shallow-land waste disposal and hands-on materials recycling. Selection of alloying elements and control of impurities are discussed based on the waste management assumptions. (orig.)
