4π γ ionization chamber for measuring the activity of radionuclides in radiopharmaceutical preparations

  • 1. Tajoura nuclear research center, Tripoli (Libyan Arab Jamahiriya), radiochemistry dept.

Description

The paper describes the design of a new well-type ionization chamber, and presents analysis results of its performance characteristics producing effect on the error of radionuclide activity measurements. The paper discusses experimental determination of the chamber response in case it is used as the performance standard of the activity unit of gamma-ray emitting nuclides. Methods for measuring 131I activity when producing pharmaceutical preparations are described. (author)
