Results of clinical applications of negative pions at Los Alamos
- 1. New Mexico Univ., Albuquerque (USA)
Description
Data are presented on forty cancer patients treated under Phase I-II studies at Los Alamos with negative pi mesons (pions), alone or with subsequent conventional radiation, and followed from 6 to 15 months prior to 15 August 1978. Patients had advanced disease (large primary and/or metastatic solid tumors) in or near the thirteen sites planned for randomized Phase III studies, and were selected to provide information on tissue tolerance in those sites. Data on longevity, tumor response, and normal tissue reactions are presented. (author)
