Points of concern regarding information provided about nuclear power generation

A qualitative survey was conducted among 35 people who answered "Neither" about the pros and cons of nuclear power restart, using two conflicting claims regarding nuclear power to identify what kinds of perceptions they had. As a result, we found the participants thought society accepted the claim that nuclear power should be used, but it was difficult to understand the contents of the claim, and they thought society did not depend on nuclear power. It turned out that when providing information to make people think more about nuclear energy together with other consumers, assuming that transparency is ensured, it would be possible to receive information unilaterally. We found participants thought it was difficult to share information within a group and there was a possibility that mistrust might be generated. In information transmission, it is necessary to avoid technical terms as much as possible, use figures with an easy-to-understand manner, and transmit new information by including information that listeners are familiar with in daily life.
