Description

A Si monochromator should be installed for High Intensity Powder Diffractometer (HIPD) on beam port ST-3 of HANARO reactor in order to minimally attenuate the passing beam, which is used by two other instruments. Experiments with bent perfect crystal Si(115) monochromators in asymmetric diffraction geometry for take-off angle 90 .deg. were carried out at beam port ST-3 to define cutting angle, ψ, between the reflecting plane and crystal surface which provides the designed resolution Δd/d 3.5x10-3 for HIPD. Cutting angle Ψ 30 .deg. was found to be appropriate
