One of the most sensitive multielement techniques of trace analysis is neutron activation. The potentialities of neutron activation analysis and its application in various areas of the life sciences are reviewed. Particular emphasis is placed on the determination of trace elements in tissues and body fluids. Limitations and trends are discussed based on recent developments. (orig.)
