The Particle Interferometry Method as a Tool Reflecting Evolution of Hadron Source

Description

The particle interferometry method provides a powerful tool to study the properties of the matter produced in heavy ion collisions at ultra-relativistic energies. Applied to identical and nonidentical hadron pairs it makes the study of space-time evolution of the source possible. Identical baryon interferometry allows to extract the HBT radii of produced sources, which can be compared to those deduced from the identical pions study providing more complete information about the source characteristics. In the case of nonidentical baryon systems we are able to explore the space-time differences in the emission process of considered particles. Such measurements may reveal any asymmetry occurring in emission due to a specific behaviour of the matter e.g. some collective phenomena. Theoretical predictions from EPOS model will be presented as well, helping us to understand the behaviour of matter created in heavy ion better
