Radiation damage in non-fissile metallic alloys
Description
A general survey is presented of radiation-induced displacement damage in non-fissile metallic alloys. The importance of the spatial arrangement of the vacancies and interstitials so produced is highlighted, especially as guide to formulating an appropriate gauge for the various radiation-induced phenomena considered - ie hardening, embrittlement, growth, creep, swelling and fracture. The present level of theoretical understanding and the technological import of these phenomena are also assessed. (author)
