Thermodynamics of ion exchange on sulphonated copolymers of styrene and divinylbenzene

Description

The sorption of water by the weakly cross-linked sulpho-styrene KRSx1 ion exchange resin in the Mg2+-, Ca2+-, Sr2+-, Ba2+-, H+-, and Li+-forms has been investigated for different relative water vapour pressures rho/rho0. The dependence of lgasub(w) (asub(w)=activity of water) on the water content in the resin has been examined and the activity coefficients of the monoionic forms of the resin have been calculated from the Duhem-Margules equation
