Book
Quantum physics in all its forms
Description
The author proposes an historical overview of the emergence and development of quantum physics since its formalization in 1930 (Planck's quanta, Einstein's photons, atomic spectra, wave mechanics, Heisenberg matrix mechanics, Schroedinger wave equation, probability wave), of the issue of superposition (state and measurement, tunnel effect, quantum resonance, caesium jet based atomic clock). He describes and comments applications which illustrate phenomena at stake, and technological advances which allowed experiments to be performed: cryptography, bosons and fermions, Bose-Einstein condensates, fermion gases, the laser, quantum teleportation, and the quantum computer
