Description
The status and results of recent Upper Plenum Injection (UPI) and related experiments are described. The experiments include UPI mockup tests performed with reactor materials, UPI mockup tests performed with simulant materials to examine separate effects, and UPI-type tests performed with sodium in. While these tests are still in an ongoing stage and thereby not yet conclusive, none of the tests performed pressurizations capable of recompacting the core in the LMFBR system. 5 refs
