Description
Fakomatoses, also known as neuro cutaneous syndromes, are a heterogeneous group of diseases in which hereditary aetiology is implicated to varying degrees (autosomal dominant hereditary diseases). These include more than 30 nosological units that primarily affect organs of neuroectodermal origin (central nervous system, peripheral nerves, skin), but also other organs and connective tissues. Radiological methods play an important role in their diagnostics. The most common diseases in this group include neurofibromatosis 1, neurofibromatosis 2, tuberous sclerosis, Sturge-Weber syndrome or Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome. (author)
