Embolotherapy in massive hemophthisis

Description

Fifty patients with hemophthisis were treated by one or more embolization procedures of systematic arteries to the lungs.Different embolization agents were used. The anatomy of the bronchial and intercostal arteries (as well as of normal variations and collaterals) and the pathologic findings in this group were studied. The authors analyzed the preembolization work-up of a hemophthisis patient, giving special attention to the angiographic aspects related to the diseased systemic lung vessels. The embolization procedure itself and both short- and long-term results were evaluated
