The masses of Population III stars

  • 1. Sao Paulo Univ., SP (Brazil). Inst. Astronomico e Geofisico

Description

We study the formation of Population III protostars, following the suggestion that the permanence of fluctuations of mass Ms ∼ 10-1000 solar masses after the recombination era may be important in the fragmentation of massive clouds of mass Mc ∼ MJ in forming Population III stars (e.g. of mass ∼ 10-1000 solar masses), where MJ is the Jeans mass at the recombination era.
