Description
Experimental results on the shape of the Cherenkov pulse obtained in 1975-1976 by means of the Yakutsk installation for studying the extensive air shower in the intensity range from 107 to 5x108 are presented. Experimental dependences of the pulse half-width tau upon the distance to the axis r and upon the shower zenith angle as well as upon the shower intensity are given. The function tau(r) is compared to the calculation results in order to choose the shower extention model giving the best fit to the data and to find the depth of the shower maximum in the atmosphere
