Description

By using radioactive ions from the proposed Oak Ridge Exotic Beam (OREB) facility we should be able to identify many new ground-state proton emitters in the mass region from Sn to Pb. In the process we will delineate the limits of stability on the proton rich side of the periodic chart for a significant fraction of medium-weight elements and expand our understanding of the proton-decay mechanism.
