X-ray diffraction study of Gd-Cu-Al system

Description
The diagram of phase equilibria of the Gd-Cu-Al system at 770 K is plotted, Al solid solution in GdCu5 attains the GdCu2Al3 composition; ternary compound with the Th2Zn17 type structure has the alternating composition of Gd2Cu8.0-6.7Al9.0-10.3. For the first time GdCuAl3 compound with the BaAl4 type structure (a=0.41591(2); c=1.06363(16) nm) and compounds ∼GdCu11Al8 and GdCu6Al5 with unknown structures are found out
