Influence of radiation and chemical processing on the strength properties of glass fiber - reinforced plastics on basis of the perfluoroplastic matrixes

Description

Radiation updating of glass fiber - reinforced plastics (GFRPs) on basis of the fluoroplastic (FP) matrixes has been researched. They were produced by the film - technology method using the fiber glass fabric with burnt lubricant. Various trade marks of Industrial FPs (F-40, F-2, F-3, F-4MB) were used as polymeric matrixes. GFRPs were irradiated with Co60 γ-rays from a Gammatok-1000 source in air and in vacuum to modify. The strength properties of GFRPs and initial polymeric matrixes were investigated before and after radiolysis. For used FP matrixes an essential destruction of single-layered microplastics is observed already at a doze of irradiation in 500 kGy. (authors)
