Improvement of ultrasonic inspection of cast stainless steel by signal processing using averaging techniques

  • 1. Framatome, Tour Fiat, 92084 Paris la Defense

Description

A digital signal processing method for space averaging using minima has been developed by Framatome which allows to improve signal-to-noise ratio during ultrasonic testing of cast stainless steel structures. Signal-to-noise ratio improvement up to 7 dB has been reached using this digital processing method on 51 waveforms recorded following a 0.5 mm meshing
