Radionuclide battery
Description
The invention has been aimed at developing a radionuclide battery on the basis of the radiovoltaic effect using tritium and avoiding extremely flat p-n transitions. This could be achieved by an inhomogeneous distribution of tritium in the semiconductor material, so that the distribution maximum is in an area that depends on the sum of the diffusion lengths of minority carriers and on the barrier layer width. Such a distribution can be obtained with the aid of ion implantation
