Diluent effect on the extraction properties of bifunctional neutral organophosphorus compounds (BNOPC). I. Ethers containing fluorine as diluents for BNOPC

Description

A new class of diluents for BNOPC, ethers containing fluorine (ECF), is investigated. Solutions of BNOPC in ECF are shown highly to extract rare earths and transplutonium elements. They can be used to separate macroscopic amounts of these elements without a stabilizer. It is discovered that the diluent properties significantly more strongly affect the extraction of BNOPC containing aryl substituents on the P than that of those with alkyl substituents
