Description

A superconducting heavy ion Linac booster at the TIFR-BARC facility has been commissioned since September 2002 and experiments were carried out in April-May 2003. Recently, two new accelerating modules were added after the mid-bend. Also, a new experimental hall has been completed to house seven user beam lines in two independently shielded areas. Beam trials were conducted in May 2006 using the two new accelerating modules up to the 45deg experimental port in hall I.. The hall I, with three user beam lines, is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2006. (author)
