Study on mathematical model for UO3 reduction with perforated baffled fluidized bed

  • 1. Tianjin Univ. (China)

Description

A perforated baffled fluidized bed reactor model is proposed using UO3 reduction. The bed is vertically divided into several independent units by the baffles. The emulsion phase in units is dealt with on the basis of the Kunii-Levenspiel model. The dilute phase is dealt with using ideal plug flow model. Good agreement is found between calculated results and experimental ones is φ63 mm perforated baffled fluidized bed for UO3 reduction. The results obtained makes it possible to predict the effects of reduction temperature, gas velocity and baffle structural parameters on solid conversion. It will offer a guide for scale-up design and optimum of this kind of reactor
