Description
These Rules amend the Merchant Shipping Rules 1978 and revoke the Merchant Shipping (Dangerous Goods) (Amendment) Rules 1979. The purpose of this amendment is to update the references to the 1978 Report of the Department of Trade's Standing Advisory Committee on the Carriage of Dangerous Goods in Ships (the Blue Book) and the 1977 Edition of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code of IMCO (the IMDG Code), referred to in the 1978 Rules. The amendments concern, inter alia, marking of packages on board ship which contain dangerous goods, including radioactive materials (NEA)

Les presentes Regles modifient les Regles de 1978 concernant la marine marchande (marchandises dangereuses) et abrogent les regles de 1979 portant amemdement de ces dernieres. L'objet de la presente modification est de mettre a jour les references contenues dans les regles de 1978, se rapportant au Rapport de 1978 du Comite consultatif permanent sur le transport maritime des matieres dangereuses du Ministere du Commerce, et a l'edition de 1977 du Code maritime international des marchandises dangereuses publie par l'OMCI. Les amendements portent, entre autres, sur le marquage des emballages a bord, contenant des marchandises dangereuses, y compris les matieres radioactives
