Safety standards
Description
Radiation safety standards are recommended in relation to the exploration and excavation of uranium ores. Special attention is paid to internal irradiation standards. In uranium mines and in the process of the underground exploration of uranium deposits the contamination of atomsphere of the mining area with short-living decay products of radon is the main radiation hazard. The specificity of the intake of radon by the organism is discussed. Data are cited on the dependence of the occurrence of cancer of lungs in miners at uranium mines on the content of radon and products of its decay in the air medium
