Inclusive production of K0, Ksup(*+)(892) and π+- in K+p-interactions at 8,2 and 16 GeV/c and quark model in the central region

Description

The results on K0, Ksup(* -)(892) and π+- generation in K+p → K0+π+-+X at 8.2 and 16 GeV/c are presented. The distributions d sigma/dx, where x=pl/psub(max) (Psub(max) - primary K+-meson momentum) for π+- mesons emitted forward and backward in the c.m.s. are of the form exp(-Ax). It is shown that values of A for the backward and forward slope parameters in the quark-quark rest system change after substraction of contribution due to produced resonances Ksup(*+)--(892), Ksup(*+)(1420), Δsup(++)(1236). Inclusive cross sections d sigma/dx for K0 and Ksup(*)(892) have been compared with the quark model predictions in the fragmentation region. The experimental cross sections are in agreement with theoretical predictions for K0, but as for Ksup(*+)(892) they disagree with the theoretical predictions
