Description
Experimental studies of low-lying E1 and E2 transitions in 12Be are presented. By utilizing the in-beam γ-ray spectroscopic technique, we have studied the inelastic scattering of 12Be on 208Pb, 12C, and (CH2)n targets. The spectroscopic results on the low-lying structure of 12Be are briefly discussed in relation to the modification of the nuclear structure near the drip line. (author)
